Tim D. Sykes - Chairman

In 1996, Tim Sykes and his partner, Sean King, founded Retirement Plan Consultants, Inc (“RPC”), a regional retirement plan design, consulting and administration firm located in Knoxville, Tennessee.  Its strength is its professional staff – collectively with more than 75 years of qualified retirement plan experience – who provide highest-quality services employing a high-touch business model.  Tim serves as RPC’s Chairman.  Today, Tim holds active registrations as a registered representative with Financial Network Investment Corporation. 

Prior to the establishment of Retirement Plan Consultants, Inc., Tim obtained his Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Tennessee.  In addition, he has worked in the financial services industry since 1993, focusing on estate planning, investments, and retirement plan design, and the Million Dollar Round Table has ranked Tim among the top two percent of his peers in the industry for the last several years.  Tim is a member and owner of Paradigm Advisors, LLC, a Registered Investment Advisory firm, through which he is able to advise clients and plan participants on investment and financial matters.  

Tim also serves as Managing Director of SageView Advisory Group for the Southeast.  SageView is a prominent and respected investment advisory firm that specializes in assisting retirement plan fiduciaries with fulfilling their legal responsibilities, and it is the designated retirement services resource nationally for Willis.  Tim has also served as a Senior Vice President for the National Retirement Practice of Willis North America. 

Tim is also very active in community and civic organizations.  He has served on boards and on a number of committees that focus on fundraising for such groups as the Helen Ross McNabb Foundation, Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Knoxville, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Emerald Youth Foundation, and the Christian Academy of Knoxville.  He serves as the Past President of Nucleus Knoxville, as a past board member of The Public Building Authority of Knoxville, the Helen Ross McNabb Foundation, as the Chair for a major fund raiser for the Wee Course at Williams Creek, and was selected for the 2006 Leadership Knoxville Class.  Additionally, he has served on the boards of the Knoxville Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors and as the Vice President and board member of Fox Den Country Club.  Tim was also recognized in January 2008 in the Knoxville Business Journal’s “40 Under 40”.   He was nominated as one of the top 40 business and community leaders under the age of 40 who are making their mark in East Tennessee. 

Tim lives in Knoxville, Tennessee with his wife, Kristen, and their sons Tanner and Drew.
